A symbol is only the beginning
A snake, a flood, or a familiar house can catch your attention immediately. The traditional entry “Dream Changes” gives a different instruction from a fixed dictionary answer: dreams may transform repeatedly, so the account should preserve their sequence.
What the traditional text says
The entry says a dream may pass through many transformations and should be remembered completely. It warns that a reading can fail when the beginning and end are not described, or when the changing pattern is ignored. This is a historical interpretive principle, not a prediction.
Read the whole movement
A calm snake that becomes threatening is not the same dream as a threatening snake that leaves. Notice the setting, people, action, turning point, and ending. Fear, relief, curiosity, grief, and calm can all change what an image invites you to reflect on.
A practical reflection
Write the dream in order. Mark the first unusual image, the moment it changed, your strongest feeling, and the final scene. Then ask what in waking life has a similar emotional shape. Symbols are useful prompts, not verdicts.
